Paul Ryan

Paul Ryan

Back in April many U.S. Congressmen got a letter from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops urging the legislators not to institute Paul Ryan’s budget reducing the “safety nets” for those who need them and asking them always to “put the poor first.”

Those are the letters that were sent, but we wonder. Did, say, the Tea Partiers even bother to open them?

If there were far less comprehensive government safety nets-would you personally donate to charities to help the deserving poor?

Probably less than the number of Democrats who opened the giant, cash-filled envelopes from their Union masters…
Seriously, the only people have just-as-brown noses are the Tea Parties.
Let me know how the Snake Oil Salesman-in-Chief is doing for you when his ‘health care plan’ forces you to spend more than you do now. Or how you have to wait for specialised treatment.

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops does not speak for the Catholic Church.

I’ve been catching up here on my Pohl-fix and I have to say that I’m surprised at the number of folks with, shall I say, ummm, ‘differing viewpoints’ come here to spew their venom. I’d have thought most would be a bit more respectful of Fred, and the fact that this is his playground. Props for the tolerance exhibited.

(I’m also guessing that these differently viewpointed commenters have little to no exposure to Fred’s works. I guess some people just have a lot of time on their hands.)
