>ignorance and apathy. It’s time to choose which qualities define us!

Well for me it's mostly apathy, with a side helping of ignorance. :)

I really shouldn't comment too much up here, I'll make myself look stupid. So I'll mostly read and learn about science.
I didn't know they think the galaxies are constantly moving and I don't know how iron60 is different than other iron. And I don't know how it would benefit us. but hey, I've always felt we should pursue space exploration. I'ts a more worthwhile activity than many other things our government spends money on. And I hope the rest of you don't think I'm a luna tic!

Not, mind you, that I have anything against going back to the Moon. And the science we could do is just one of the excellent reasons we should. (Plus I'd feel a bit more optimistic about our species' chances of survival.)

I think the helium 3 mining might be a better sell for the man on the street and the politician on the hill, even if it probably is a bit of a crock. But who knows, perhaps Neil deGrasse Tyson can pull it off...

Oops. That should have been "looking for a supernova remnant *which was* within 100 to 200 light years of where the solar system was [around 3 million years ago]." Which I imagine both complicates the search and expands the amount of real estate you have to sift through.
