		<description>My dad was drafted in 1943 &amp; ended up in the ASTP, going to U. of Cinncinati for a time. As you relate, this didn&#039;t last, and he went to the 14th Armored Division. As far as I know, about all the ASTP soldiers ended up as cadre, various noncoms % officers. The army was good at identifying potential leaders.</description>
