Dick Cheney
I was never a fan of Dick Cheney, but since he has been out of office he seems to have got even worse. Some of the things he says simply can’t be defended.
In just one example, he says that the blame for al Qaeda’s bloody and brutal destruction of the World Trade Center and the death of the thousands of people it murdered belongs to one man alone, namely Dick Clarke, because Clarke had the responsibility for warning President Bush in such matters and failed to do as he was sworn to do.
But that is not simply untrue, it is the opposite of true. On several occasions Clarke sent clear and unambiguous written warnings, one of them just days before the actual attack and they were ignored. That is a matter of public record.
So there are only two possibilities. Either Cheney is flat-out lying though aware that his lies can be proven on him, or he has simply lost touch with the real world.
Either way, whatever he says, he is not to be believed.

Robert Nowall says:
You say Clarke had the responsibility of warning President Bush. Vice-President Cheney isn’t President Bush.

But there is a third possibility; he is both flat-out lying and he has lost touch with the real world.
And I think that he knows this, and doesn’t care.

He lies because he pays no price for lying. People keep inviting him onto their television and radio shows.

The guy belongs in jail.
The only way we could have had a worse VP was if McCain won. “Dodged a bullet” doesn’t begin to describe last November’s election results.

What Cheney is arguing is that Clarke\’s responsibility was to force Cheney and Bush to notice what he was saying despite their resolute desire to not acknowledge it, being, as it was, a relic of discredited Clinton priorities.
Cheney is evil.

LOL! Every time I see a picture of Dick Cheney staring at me I feel an overwhelming urge to run to the shower and wash the slime off.

What amazes me is that people still care. It seems anytime Obama does something stupid or just does nothing that the liberals play a “remember when” about the Bush/Cheney debacle. I am more concerned about the current fool in office.
Move on already…..

Yeah, it’s weird how people really care about the previous administration lying us into war, illegally wiretapping US citizens, torturing and detaining prisoners without charges, targeting political opponents with fraudulent criminal charges, etc. I guess they’re just hung up on that “law” thing.

What I find striking is how their successor is continuing the policies that got him elected.
