Mr Pohl,

I just wanted to thank you for all your great novels you’ve written. You’re books always had a nack for balancing mystery, strategy, thrills, and character development. I really wish one of your big novels, such as Gateway, “The Other End of Time”, or “The World at the End of Time” made it to the big screen. I found the storyline of these novels very interesting and unique.

Thank for the endless hours of entertainment your novels have brought me!

I’m happy to hear it. Besides that there’s so little in SF that moves me to buy a book these days—I do my book buying in other sections—I’d enjoy seeing some “how-to” on writing from a master of the field. (And not just because I’m still trying to figure out how to do it after thirty-plus years of trying.)

Thanks for not writing a book about writing. I’ve never bought one, because I think they’re written more for people who are in love with the idea of being a writer than actually writing.

That said, I’ve been told I’m rather good at motivating people to write.

Now, a book about getting published, if it contained a magical formula – that I would buy.
